Week Two - April 6th
Watch the videos to learn about persuasive writing On ReadWorks - Read the article "Should School be Year-Round." Use the "Opinion Planner" to plan your writing. What you put in the "My Opinion" (main idea) box is your thesis! Write a persuasive essay to convince me that school should be or shouldn't be year round.

Week Three - April 13th
Spelling City - bio words Do as many activities as you'd like, but only the tests will be taken for a grade. Read "The Magic of Mime" on ReadWorks and answer the comprehension questions. Watch the Mime Video. Using context clues is like watching a mime. If we don't know what a word means (like the mime who doesn't tell us what he's doing) we can use the words around it to figure it out (we can watch the mime and his actions tell us what he's acting out). Week Four - April 20th
Another writing week! Our topic - your favorite animal. Watch the video to see an example and explanation of Expository Composition (informative writing). Look at my example of Expository Writing Planning Use the blank planner to plan your writing Write an Expository Essay to tell me about your favorite animal. You should have 5 short paragraphs. 1. Introduction 2. A fact about the animal with details 3. A fact about the animal with details 4. A fact about the animal with details 5. Conclusion
